2010 Blogging While Brown Conference

BWBLogo

The 2010 Blogging While Brown Conference in Washington DC has come and gone, and once again, it was an event filled with knowledge, camaraderie, and spirit. Founded by Black Weblog Award winner Gina McCauley in 2008, the purpose of the conference is to facilitate conversations that lead to collaboration and innovation among bloggers of color -- African-American bloggers in particular. Emphasis is placed on stimulating interaction between the attendees, and all conference activities and events are aimed at fostering a shared experience which forms the basis of new relationships or strengthens relationships already in existence.

Black Weblog Awards founder Maurice Cherry was present for both days of the conference, and gave the opening discussion with Dr. Andre Brock and Sepia Mutiny's Anna John on Friday for the panel Who We Are, What it Means, Why We Matter. (You can check out notes here.)

There were several great panels on Saturday as well. We have our live notes to share here:

Regulating Emerging Media Forms: The FTC's Perspective: http://notepad.cc/share/oQwV8Ht3Fl

Did we mention that lots of Black Weblog Award winners were in the building? Here's who we were able to spot:

Overall, it was an amazing experience. Next year, the Blogging While Brown Conference will be in sunny Los Angeles from July 8-9, 2011. And in case any of this is hyping you up to go next year, registration is already open. Check out the highlight reel from this year's conference.

Just now checking out your notes. I missed your panel. Were you taking notes or did you have someone taking them for you to repost later?

Thanks for the notes. Great summaries, especially helpful for those of us who attended parts of the unconference and may have missed some of the conference panelists.
