Blogging Story: Marcie Hill

This blogging story comes to us from Marcie Hill of Go Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource.

I started blogging in 2008 after attending the Unity Conference for Journalists and Community Media Workshop at Columbia College. Blogging was emphasized at both conferences and I felt that it was something I should be doing as a new journalist (at that time). My love of writing inspires me to blog. I can write a post in a few minutes. I have six blogs, and four of the six are updated at least once a week.

Blogs allow me to share my thoughts, vent and gain more ideas to move forward in life. I use them to enlighten my readers, share information from books and conversations, and find positives from negative situations. My blog, Go Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource, is allowing me to share positive information and resources on the South Side, despite all the violence. As NOT Seen on TV is my venting blog about mainstream media practices. The Write Design Company, my writing business, discusses entrepreneurship, blogging, live blogging, writing and social media. Blogging is a service that I provide to small businesses.

I have deemed myself THE BILLION DOLLAR BLOGGER.
