Our new blogger on the block is:
Three Naturals by Juli-Anne James, Noni Lindsay, and Winnifred Quarshie.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
We felt that there was a lack of a representative voice for Canadian women who wear their hair in its natural state. This was the initial catalyst for us to start blogging, but even in our conversations with each other as naturals, we realized that it's really more than just about hair. It's about embracing your authentic self in a way that allows you to be fulfilled and at peace and to find your ultimate purpose. So ultimately our goal is to promote and facilitate a Canadian community of support for Canadian black women.
When People come to your blog what will they find?
Anyone visiting ThreeNaturals.com can expect to find inspirational stories and thoughts from us and other women, that will provoke thought about self image and self esteem. These stories, by and large, will start with something hair related, but will ultimately be illustrating a deeper point. We also provide practical information and instruction on caring for natural hair, personal style and other lifestyle issues concerning women.
What is the promise that you make to people who visit your blog?
Our promise is that you will leave our blog pages with a new perspective. You will definitely read something on the blog and think "Hmm, I never thought about it that way."
Who are your blogging inspirations or heroes?
We love the work that CurlyNikki does. Because again, it's more than just your hair and she has found a way to broaden the conversation, which is what we aspire to do.
