Why did you decide to start a blog?
I've been a writer, esthetician, and makeup artist for many years. My 2 year gig as the beauty editor of a bridal magazine fueled my desire for creative freedom, and an ability to connect with a wider audience. I have a bizarre sense of humor, which is reflected in my writing, and a great love of beauty, fashion, natural hair, and healthy food. I figured, what better way to combine my passions than to start a blog? I had a back injury as a result of improperly picking up my (HUGE) baby, so I was stuck home with nothing to do but try to figure out what a blog was, and how to start one. I also realized that my style was very different from that of my favorite bloggers, and I hoped that I might find a niche. It was a fortuitous decision, and I've loved every minute.
When people come to your blog, what will they find?
I love to dole out information as I learn it...the natural hair journey, new cosmetics, skin care, and local fashion events. My readers will also find local Street Style, and information on keeping skin and hair healthy and hydrated. I personally love free stuff, and Ruby Envy Beauty recently had it's first hair product giveaway. The next one is coming up soon, and it will be lingerie...I can't wait!
What is the promise you make to people who visit your blog?
It's not dull. I hope I'm as entertaining as I think I am. If not, readers can feel free to leave a snide comment...but I haven't had one yet! Also, the important information as it relates to your health is very current. I consult professionals and specialists in order to bring the latest information on skincare and nutrition to my readers.
