So why is it so popular? We did a little research. Here are the pros and cons of the service.

PROS

• It’s free
• It’s easy to set up in less than five minutes, and doesn’t require a lot of technical know-how to maintain it
• For new bloggers, it’s a great way to get your blogging sea legs to get the hang of and feel for blogging.
• The back end has an easy drag-and-drop template editing interface for blog design
• It’s easy to creating reading permissions for private blogs
• You can create group blogs of up to 100 contributors
• There’s lots of publishing integration from other tools (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Windows Live Writer)
• You can easily create an unlimited number of blogs, each with 1 GB of storage and a 250 KB size limit per picture
• Since it’s a Google product, it integrates well with other Google services, such as YouTube, Feedburner, Google Analytics (Blogger Stats), and AdSense

CONS

• Exporting your comments is a challenge
• Some users may not see sites on Blogger or Blogspot as “professional”
• Somewhat limited in terms of design unless you know HTML
• Blogger and Blogspot are blocked in several countries, including China, Iran, and Pakistan
