The Black Weblog Awards are for weblogs by Black people. If you’ve got a question on what a Black weblog is, feel free to browse the winners from past years.
For the nomination process, blog owners must claim their own blog. Only one blog can be nominated per e-mail address. Duplicate nominations that are found are immediately removed from the system without notification based on submission date. Nominations are open from June 20 – July 25.
Those nominating a blog must have a valid e-mail address for submitting. When you go through the nomination process, you will have the option to subscribe to the Black Weblog Awards Newsletter distribution list and for entry into the Black Blog Directory. Please read our privacy policy if there are any concerns. Your information will not be used in any other way than those aforementioned, but ballots with fake and “anti-spam” addresses will not be accepted.
Please do not submit nominations through our contact form or through any of our social network profiles. Any nominations received through these means will not count towards nominations or finalist vote counts.
Blogs that have won a particular category at least three times are no longer eligible to win for that particular category. This includes blogs that have won either the Judges’ and/or Popular vote for their category.
Each category will have two winners: a Popular vote and a Judges’ vote. The top five most nominated blogs in each category will become finalists which the public will vote on via the finalist form. These are the Popular vote winners. Our panel of judges will select their favorite blogs (ranked on a weighted system) from the pool of nominees. These are the Judges’ vote winners. Voting for both takes place from August 1-31.
The winners for both the Popular and Judges’ Votes will be announced on September 4.
